Bullying can take on many forms, the intent of the simulation is to increase students/nurse’s awareness of bullying behaviors and how to effectively intervene when bullying occurs. Bullying can affect individuals professional and personal lives, impact patient care, and perpetuate negative behaviors in others.

Learning Objectives:

Identify bullying behaviors in the workplace and that bullying is occurring.

Demonstrate effective communication techniques that address the immediate situation.

Demonstrate effective communication technique and strategies that address the situation (upon reflection).

Simulation Modality:

Virtual gaming simulation / virtual patient

Evalution/Validation:

This simulation’s scenario and script were formally peer-reviewed by two external institutions, then the final simulation was pilot tested by several students on a student testing committee then as part of the Virtu-WIL Student Program’s rollout.
