The following simulation follows a patient through a visit to an acute emergency room setting. The patient experiences fluctuations in vital signs and presents a variety of subjective and objective data cues. The learner is required to cluster data to identify inferences about the client’s health status.

Learning Objectives:

Recognize expected range and abnormal variants in vital signs

Demonstrate clinical judgement in response to data cues gathered through ongoing assessment

Apply clinical reasoning to identify potential complications in the post-op MSK patient

Simulation Modality:

Virtual gaming simulation / virtual patient

Evalution/Validation:

This simulation’s scenario and script were formally peer-reviewed by two external institutions, then the final simulation was pilot tested by several students on a student testing committee then as part of the Virtu-WIL Student Program’s rollout.
