Recognize and manage a client experiencing post-operative complications and potential severe sepsis at a small, rural hospital.

- Recognize and interpret signs and symptoms of sepsis in the different stages using multiple sources of clinical data (assessments, labs, diagnostics, etc).
- Apply effective interdisciplinary communication tools and practices to communicate care concerns and ensure continuity of care.
- Prioritize nursing interventions according to evidence based practice.
- Anticipate the clinical deterioration of a client experiencing severe sepsis using a variety of clinical cues.
- Discuss strategies to empathetically support clients during periods of stress and crisis.
