Respond to a call to a workplace accident and perform a patient assessment, initiate treatment, and manage a mechanical ventilator.

Learning Objectives:

  1.  Receive report from construction crew employee at scene.
  2. Perform initial patient assessment.
  3. Initiate initial treatment.
  4. Initiate mechanical ventilation on a transport ventilator.
  5. Mange mechanical ventilation of a patient on a transport ventilator.
  6. Deliver a patient report to other medical professional.

Simulation Modality:

Virtual gaming simulation / virtual patient

Evalution/Validation:

This simulation’s scenario and script were formally peer-reviewed by two external institutions, then the final simulation was pilot tested by several students on a student testing committee then as part of the Virtu-WIL Student Program’s rollout.
