In this simulation, you will be acting as a Medical Laboratory Professional at a small town Hospital. While you work, you will have to troubleshoot quality control issues that arise.
Learning Objectives:
Interpret statistical data to assess quality control results in the core laboratory including mean, standard deviation, and coefficient of variation.
Recognize quality control failures in the core laboratory and suggest appropriate follow up.
Interpret Levy-Jennings charts and apply Westgard rules to quality control data for troubleshooting.
Identify quality control deficiencies where patient results cannot be reported.
Simulation Modality:
Virtual gaming simulation / virtual patientEvalution/Validation:
This simulation’s scenario and script were formally peer-reviewed by two external institutions, then the final simulation was pilot tested by several students on a student testing committee then as part of the Virtu-WIL Student Program’s rollout.
