Health Promotion in the Rural Setting: Communicating with a Patient with Different Priorities

Learning Objectives:

Carry out appropriate nursing assessments related to pressure injuries.

Interpret assessment findings to determine need for further investigations in caring for the client with a pressure injury.

Prioritize nursing actions in response to wound assessment findings for the client with a pressure injury.

Engage in effective interprofessional communication when notifying health care provider of pertinent changes in client status

Simulation Modality:

Virtual gaming simulation / virtual patient


This simulation’s scenario and script were formally peer-reviewed by two external institutions, then the final simulation was pilot tested by several students on a student testing committee then as part of the Virtu-WIL Student Program’s rollout.
