Asma Badiwe is a 27 year old female, G1P1T0A0L0 and day one post-partum. You provided care for Asma Badiwe yesterday morning. She had a spontaneous vaginal birth with no complications. Her birth history and assessments are saved in the EMR. You are starting your morning shift and assigned to Asma again. You have washed your hands, introduced yourself, and provided patient privacy. You have entered the examination room and will begin your postpartum

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the simulation, you will be able to:

  • Prioritize post-partum assessment sequencing and effectively communicate with the client.
  • Interpret findings from the assessment and communicate findings that require immediate reporting.
  • Develop two nursing diagnosis based on assessment findings.

Simulation Modality:

Virtual gaming simulation / virtual patient

Evalution/Validation:

This simulation’s scenario and script were formally peer-reviewed by two external institutions, then the final simulation was pilot tested by several students on a student testing committee then as part of the Virtu-WIL Student Program’s rollout
