You are a Paramedic, arriving at the scene and find the patient in respiratory distress and alongside them is a support worker/translator.

Learning Objectives:

Obtain a patient history (CC, SAMPLE, OPQRST)

Assess vital signs and conduct a respiratory system assessment using the Physical Exam tool

Interpret assessment findings

Prepare and administer treatment as appropriate using the Orders tool

Be sure to Adapt your communication style to pediatric population AND foreign language.

Virtual gaming simulation / virtual patient

Evalution/Validation:

This simulation’s scenario and script were formally peer-reviewed by two external institutions, then the final simulation was pilot tested by several students on a student testing committee then as part of the Virtu-WIL Student Program’s rollout.
