In this simulation,you will be asked to make informed decisions regarding how you would best respond to the presented situations. Your choices and responses will remain confidential, you will not be graded on this simulation. However, throughout the simulation, you will be given opportunities to self-reflect, and at the end, there will be a guided self-debrief to extend your learning.

Learning Objectives:

Recognize signs and symptoms of elder abuse and/or neglect in a community setting.

Explore priority assessments in response to suspected elder abuse and/or neglect in a community setting.

Demonstrate an evidence-informed process for responding to potential and/or actual elder abuse and/or neglect in a community setting.

Simulation Modality:

Virtual gaming simulation / virtual patient


This simulation’s scenario and script were formally peer-reviewed by two external institutions, then the final simulation was pilot tested by several students on a student testing committee then as part of the Virtu-WIL Student Program’s rollout.
