Entry-level MLT’s will work their way through the basics of preparing and issuing packed red blood cells safely when there is no time to perform any serological investigations. They will then move onto ‘Master Blood Bank’ training, in which a simple procedure becomes more complicated when Patient History is revealed. More products and different types are required. The MLT’s will have to apply expeditious critical-thinking to ‘Escape the Blood Bank’ for this shift on time!
