This is an evaluation form that can be used to measure students’ simulation performance in many disciplines within healthcare. The Global Rating Scale has been designed to be best utilized with hands-on scenarios in the simulation teaching environment.

Learning Objectives:

The areas being measured are identified on the GRS. They include:

Situational awareness
Patient assessment
History gathering
Decision making
Procedural skill
Resource utilization
Communication

Simulation Modality:

Hybrids or blended simulation, Manikin-based, Role-playing, Standardized/simulated patients or real patients, Task trainer

Competencies:

The areas being measured are clearly identified on the GRS. The areas being evaluated can be changed to address the specific needs of various disciplines.
