During this scenario you will evaluate patient samples and determine if they should be ran for serum protein electrophoresis. Once they are ran you review the results and determine if any follow up is required. You will have the ability to ask for help however, each time that you do you use up your time. The Clinical Chemist is waiting for your review so do not take more than 25 minutes.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Evaluate serum protein electrophoresis results efficiently
  2. Initiate appropriate follow up
  3. Verify sample integrity
  4. Initiate corrective action after recognizing gaps in knowledge and skill

Simulation Modality:

Virtual gaming simulation / virtual patient

Evalution/Validation:

This simulation’s scenario and script were formally peer-reviewed by two external institutions, then the final simulation was pilot tested by several students on a student testing committee then as part of the Virtu-WIL Student Program’s rollout.
