This simulation will be examining geriatric suicide awareness and assessment. Within the scenario, you will be playing the role of the nurse (Jack) and working with your patient Wei Ing.

Learning Objectives:

1. Identify risk factors, warning signs and symptoms of suicide risk in older adults.
2. Interpret subjective and objective data to assess suicide risk in older adults.
3. Apply risk management strategies for suicide risk reduction to older adults.

Simulation Modality:

Virtual gaming simulation / virtual patient

Evalution/Validation:

This simulation’s scenario and script were formally peer-reviewed by two external institutions, then the final simulation was pilot tested by several students on a student testing committee then as part of the Virtu-WIL Student Program’s rollout.
