Identify the changing health condition of a patient who has undergone a nephrectomy and provide appropriate care.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Assess and provide evidence-informed care to a post operative patient after nephrectomy.
  2. Provide patient-centered care incorporating the principles of culturally sensitive care (language barrier, ritualistic behavior, 1st generation immigrants).
  3. Communicate effectively with the members of the care team to promote effective decision-making.

Simulation Modality:

Virtual gaming simulation / virtual patient

Evalution/Validation:

This simulation’s scenario and script were formally peer-reviewed by two external institutions, then the final simulation was pilot tested by several students on a student testing committee then as part of the Virtu-WIL Student Program’s rollout.
