You are a Paramedic, arriving at the scene at 8:10am local time. Your initial scene assessment reveals no safety concerns.
You are guided to a small room with a crib against the wall. You find the mother, inconsolable, and the father performing CPR on the infant, on the floor in front of the crib.

Learning Objectives:

Obtain a brief history of events from the mother

Perform a rapid physical assessment of the infant in the Orders

Determine field diagnoses based on findings from history and assessment

Communicate these findings to the mother

Simulation Modality:

Virtual gaming simulation / virtual patient

Evalution/Validation:

This simulation’s scenario and script were formally peer-reviewed by two external institutions, then the final simulation was pilot tested by several students on a student testing committee then as part of the Virtu-WIL Student Program’s rollout.
