Care for a pediatric patient who crashed their bike and is transported to the emergency department for further resuscitation. This scenario is designed for Paramedics, Respiratory Therapists, and Nurses.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this simulation, you will be able to:

  1. Conduct a comprehensive primary and secondary assessment of a pediatric patient.

  2. Prioritize and implement appropriate interventions for a pediatric patient after a traumatic event.

  3. Manage a pediatric patient’s airway and breathing.

  4. Perform pediatric advanced cardiac life support as required.

  5. Communicate effectively with the health care team.

Simulation Modality:

Virtual gaming simulation / virtual patient

Evalution/Validation:

This simulation’s scenario and script were formally peer-reviewed by two external institutions, then the final simulation was pilot tested by several students on a student testing committee then as part of the Virtu-WIL Student Program’s rollout.
