George Brown has been a leader in the area of healthcare simulation since 2003. The George Brown College Simulation Centre is located on the fourth floor of the Waterfront Campus. We have five twelve-bed practice labs which can replicate a hospital or long-term care setting. Each practice lab has an associated classroom for 24 students. Our four high-fidelity suites are equipped with control rooms, video recording capabilities and debriefing suites. We also have an operating room suite. Our Health eHome is a simulated bachelor apartment with a living area, bathroom and a working kitchen. There are three additional cooking stations in the Health eHome used for training students in meal preparation
Our faculty includes renowned lead “simulationists” Lorraine Betts, Celina DaSilva and Connie Barbour. Their collective experience represents a critical mass of expertise that is not duplicated anywhere else in Ontario.
The Simulation Centre is also a viable research space where industry can test products before taking them to market. Our simulation facilities are available for rental. Please contact us for further information.
The Waterfront Campus of George Brown College is located at the foot of Sherbourne Street just south of Queen’s Quay. We’re situated between Sugar Beach Park and the Corus building to our west and Sherbourne Common to our east.
