The virtual simulation game will require the MLT learner to make critical decisions and actions. The learner will use the reporting tool on what information needs to be communicated and how between themselves and the members of the health care team to foster teamwork and the culture of patient safety.
Learning Objectives:
- Follow established protocols as defined in procedure manuals.
- Contribute to patient-centred care and integrate timelines.
- Identify barriers to effective communications.
- Recognize and acts on critical results.
- Set expectations for what, when and how the information will be communicated between members of the health care team.
- Engage in reflective practice to improve future practice.
Simulation Modality:
Virtual gaming simulation / virtual patientEvalution/Validation:
This simulation’s scenario and script were formally peer-reviewed by two external institutions, then the final simulation was pilot tested by several students on a student testing committee then as part of the Virtu-WIL Student Program’s rollout.
