Associate or Full Professor and Canada Research Chair in Healthcare Simulation • Carleton University

The successful incumbent will be recognized as an outstanding researcher acknowledged by their peers as world leaders in the application and development of computer science, artificial intelligence and/or augmented or virtual reality as related to outcome-based performance (simulation), coaching or training, systems and design thinking as applied to simulation and/or complementary research in the field of health technology.

The health driven incumbent will also serve to be the lead researcher and informant of the Carleton University, School of Nursing Masters and Doctoral programs. This person will influence curriculum design and chart the course of the ‘tech forward’ Graduate streams of Nursing and interprofessional programs, influencing the course of health/tech providers for the next generation. The Carleton University School of Nursing will welcome it’s first cohort of 110 students into a compressed (3 year, 9 semester, continuous delivery program) September 2025 expanding to intake up to 220 at program capacity by 2029. Students will declare concentrations which include 1) Neuroscience and Mental Health or 2) Data Science at the end of their first semester (or as soon as November 2025). Students in either concentration will focus on research and best practices that could be informed by the incumbent of this position.
