Research is a team sport. Like for any other sport; roles, responsibilities, expectations and credits of each player should be discussed and clarified right from the beginning of the game. I would encourage anyone who is involved in simulation research to determine from the start of the project – right after deciding on the research question – the expectations, role(s), authorship, and responsibilities that go with it. This will allow for creating a safe and transparent research environment, and for every team member to meet their expectations. Ultimately, it will allow long-term collaboration.
