“Then and Now”… Using a Simulated Clinical Experience to Teach Maternal-Newborn Care in Nursing

Providing high quality clinical experiences to prepare nursing students for the complexities of the current health-care system has become increasingly difficult. This webinar explored the presenter’s experiences in the development of an Obstetrical Simulated Clinical Experience for nursing students as partial replacement of traditional in-hospital learning. Participants gain insight into the challenges and rewards of utilizing this form of simulation pedagogy, as well as the importance of simulation design including both prebriefing and debriefing aspects.
