As Canadian educators who have worked with simulation-based pedagogy for many years we read with interest the editorial ‘http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/jan.12891/abstract” target=”_blank”>Living dolls and nurses without empathy’. The authors of the article expressed a concern that all of us working in simulation have encountered: namely that a manikin – or any simulator, for that matter – cannot possibly accurately represent, and certainly cannot replace, a real person. We absolutely agree!
